This Saturday Beacon Hill will have its first ever business district Art Walk! The Merchants Association, Beacon Arts, and local businesses are collaborating to bring shoppers and art lovers to our Avenue.
The self-guided artwalk begins at 4 pm at the Beacon Rocks street concert on the Maestas Festival Street, heads north to the junction of 15th Av S and Beacon Avenue, then turns south along Beacon Avenue for nearly a mile to Jefferson Park. There are over 30 venues, performances and installations, most accessible from the street and some inside local businesses. Starting at 6 pm there will be live entertainment behind El Quetzal Restaurant, 3209 Beacon Av S, beginning with Danza Azteca. At 7 pm enjoy the traditional Mexican street sounds of La Banda Gozona, Seattle’s premier Oaxacan banda, while savoring the delicious food and drink from El Quetzal’s back porch dining. Expect great weather, great people, great food and great music! Special thanks to Juan at El Quetzal for his generous support of this event.
Other events planned for this Saturday include a Sustainability Walk through the North Beacon Hill business district beginning at the Festival Street at 11 am, the Beacon Rocks! concert from 1-5 pm, and a neighborhood check-in about improvements at the “Junction” of 15th and Beacon from 4-6 pm.
